ACP Academic And Career Planning
ACP Academic and Career Planning
-
Academic and Career Planning is a student-driven, adult-supported plan intended to equip students and their families with the tools necessary to make more informed choices about postsecondary education, training, and/or careers for life after high school. It is part of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's overall vision for every student to graduate high school academically, socially, emotionally, and life ready. PI26 legislation requires public school districts to provide academic and career planning services to students in Grades 6-12 beginning in the 2017-18 school year. All CCSD students will experience an Academic Career Plan. Awareness begins in K-5 and the plan evolves from 6-12 learning experiences that support employability skills, career awareness, exploration, planning and training. The Clinton Community School District utilizes Xello to engage students in their Academic and Career Planning. Please reference Welcome Xello if you would like to learn more about the online program. Students log onto Xello using their Google zero sign in.
ACP is a 4 part process of KNOW, EXPLORE, PLAN, and GO which students develop throughout Middle and High School.

Upon completion of High School all students will:
Know their unique interests and abilities and how they are compatible with a multitude of high school and post high school opportunities.
Explore careers clusters and pathways, labor statistics, education and training requirements, service and work based learning opportunities, career and technical student organizations and certification opportunities.
Plan and maintain a program of study that provided flexibility based on individual experiences.
Go (graduate) with confidence and reevaluate skills with the ability to return to the process as needed.
